Geofence Alerts

Modified on Thu, 31 Jul at 6:04 AM

The SOL-X SmartWatch enhances crew situational awareness through proactive GeoFence alerts. These alerts are triggered when you enter or remain within an area where a Permit to Work activity is ongoing. This feature is designed to promote safety, especially in high-risk zones onboard the vessel.

How It Works

  • Automatic Detection
When a GeoFence is active for a particular work zone (e.g., Engine Room, Fire Pump Room), your watch detects your presence and triggers an alert.

  • Scheduled Alerts
Alerts are sent every 4 hours while the GeoFence is active, helping reinforce awareness without overwhelming the user.

  • Work Permit Visibility
The alert includes the type of activity underway (e.g., Hot Work, System Maintenance), allowing you to understand the risk associated with the area.

  • Quick Actions
Crew can acknowledge alerts directly from the watch interface, and access more details if needed.

Why It Matters

GeoFence alerts reduce the likelihood of accidental exposure to hazardous work areas. This system supports compliance with permit-to-work protocols, especially during hot work, electrical maintenance, or confined space entries.

By receiving real-time location-based warnings, crew members can make informed decisions, enhance personal safety, and contribute to a safer work environment.
